MERITIQA / PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
How personal information is used when you explore MERITIQA, create an account or use professional learning and interview-preparation tools.
Document version: 25 October 2026. This policy applies from the date it is published on this website.
Privacy at a glance
- We process account, service-use and billing information to operate MERITIQA.
- If you submit a CV, job description, written answer or other career material to a feature, that material may contain personal information.
- Payment processing is provided through Stripe; do not send us your full payment-card details by email.
- You can ask to access, correct or delete personal information, subject to applicable law.
- For privacy questions, contact sales@ride-skin.com.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
For personal information that MERITIQA determines how and why to use, the data controller is RIDE-SKIN LIMITED, trading as MERITIQA. RIDE-SKIN LIMITED is registered in England and Wales under company number 16520100. Its registered office is 6 Ivy Crescent, Chiswick, London W4 5NG, United Kingdom.
Contact us about data protection at sales@ride-skin.com. This policy relates to meritiqa.com and the MERITIQA service; other websites operated by the company may have different policies.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use the service and which features are enabled, the following categories of information may be processed:
- Account and contact details: such as your name, email address, sign-in details, account status and support correspondence.
- Career and learning information: such as roles, occupations, industry preferences, career level, education, skills, learning selections, practice answers and progress information you choose to provide.
- Uploaded or pasted materials: such as CVs, job advertisements, interview prompts and supporting documents submitted by you. These can include personal information about you or other people.
- Subscriptions and transactions: such as Stripe customer or subscription identifiers, plan name, payment status, renewal dates and cancellation status. Payment-card processing is handled by the payment provider.
- Technical and security information: such as IP address, browser or device information, authentication events, log entries and data needed to maintain site security and diagnose faults.
- Communications and preferences: such as questions to support, marketing choices and cookie or privacy preferences, where applicable.
Please avoid including national identification numbers, health information, financial-account details, confidential workplace documents or information about other individuals unless it is genuinely necessary and you have a lawful basis to provide it.
3. Why we use the information and our lawful bases
Under UK data protection law, personal information must be processed for identified purposes using an appropriate lawful basis. Our principal processing purposes are described below.
| Purpose | Typical information | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Create and manage an account; provide subscribed functionality | Account data, selections, submitted learning material | Performance of a contract or steps requested before entering one |
| Manage purchases, cancellations and customer service | Contact details, billing metadata, messages | Contract; legal obligation where records must be kept |
| Prevent abuse, maintain security and troubleshoot | Logs, authentication data, device and network details | Legitimate interests in securing the service and users; legal obligation where applicable |
| Keep required company, accounting and tax records | Relevant transaction and correspondence records | Legal obligation |
| Understand and improve service performance | Operational diagnostics and proportionate usage information | Legitimate interests in improving and maintaining the service, subject to your rights and any separate cookie requirements |
| Send optional promotional communications, where offered | Contact details and preferences | Consent or another lawful basis specifically permitted by applicable marketing rules |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, our interests are in protecting users, preventing misuse, maintaining a reliable service and improving its operation in ways that respect individuals’ rights. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, as described in section 10.
4. Career documents and AI-assisted functionality
MERITIQA is intended to support career learning and interview preparation. Information you submit to a study or assisted feature may be used to generate the output you request, maintain the relevant session or account experience, and investigate service or security issues where necessary. This can include CV text, job descriptions, questions and draft answers.
Where an AI-assisted feature is enabled, the content you enter may be processed through a third-party AI or technical service provider involved in producing a response. Such a provider may operate infrastructure outside the United Kingdom. The particular provider, contractual permissions concerning model training, log retention and transfer safeguards depend on the technology actually enabled for the feature. These should be confirmed for any feature before personal or confidential documents are submitted.
Important: Please remove unnecessary identifiers and other people’s personal information before uploading material. Do not assume that information supplied to an automated tool is private to your own device. If you need to know the processing arrangements for a particular feature before using it, email sales@ride-skin.com.
Suggestions, learning progress indicators and practice feedback are educational aids. MERITIQA is not the employer making your recruitment decisions. This policy does not authorise a future use of solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects without first providing the information and safeguards required by law.
5. Who may receive your information?
Only to the extent needed for relevant functions, information may be disclosed to the following categories of recipients:
- Website and hosting service providers: the WordPress technology environment and Bluehost hosting services supporting the website and its infrastructure.
- Payment and subscription provider: Stripe for payment processing, customer billing, invoices, renewals, refunds and subscription management. Stripe may act as a separate controller for some of its own payment and compliance processing. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Technical and AI-processing providers: only where a live feature depends on them, to process the information needed for that feature.
- Professional advisers, authorities or counterparties: where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling or a lawful business transaction.
We do not treat publication of this policy as permission to sell or publicly disclose your CV, answers or account details. We assess each service provider and data-sharing arrangement according to its actual role and applicable law.
6. Overseas processing and transfers
Some suppliers of hosting, payment or AI technology operate internationally. Personal information may therefore be accessed or processed outside the UK depending on which services are in use. When MERITIQA is responsible for a restricted international transfer, that transfer must have a valid legal mechanism, such as applicable UK adequacy regulations, appropriate contractual safeguards or another permitted basis. The particular mechanisms depend on the supplier and destination.
You may contact us for details of the safeguards applicable to your information. This statement should be read together with any feature-specific notice that identifies the actual suppliers involved.
7. How long we keep information
We retain personal information for no longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is used. Relevant criteria include:
- Account and learning information: the duration of your account or the period needed to deliver the features requested, followed by a proportionate period for closure, recovery or dispute resolution.
- Submitted documents and feature content: the time needed to provide the chosen functionality and any account history or recovery feature that is actually enabled. Copies in security backups or processor systems may follow different deletion cycles.
- Payment and tax records: the periods required by tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
- Logs and support messages: proportionate periods needed for service security, troubleshooting, complaints and legitimate legal claims.
Deletion requests are assessed under applicable law. We may need to retain limited records after account closure to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. We will explain any relevant retention exception when responding to a request.
8. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
MERITIQA may use browser storage or cookies required for login, authentication, session continuity, security and core site operation. The website may also use preferences or measurement tools if configured. Different legal rules can apply depending on the purpose and how the technology operates.
Where applicable law requires consent for a non-essential technology, that technology should not be activated until a suitable choice has been offered. Your browser may let you manage or remove stored cookies, but disabling strictly necessary ones can prevent login or other requested functionality.
This page is not a substitute for a feature-specific cookie list or controls showing the actual technologies in use. Information about particular cookies, purposes, providers and expiry periods should be made available through the site’s cookie settings or corresponding notice whenever those technologies are deployed.
9. Marketing messages
Transactional messages about your account, security, receipts and subscriptions are different from optional promotional communications. When optional marketing is offered, we will apply the applicable marketing rules and provide a means to withdraw consent or opt out as required. You can also request that we stop optional promotional emails by writing to sales@ride-skin.com.
10. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis for processing, you may have the right to:
- receive information about how your data is used and request access to it;
- have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
- request deletion of information where the law allows;
- request restriction of processing in qualifying circumstances;
- receive qualifying information in a portable format;
- object to certain processing based on legitimate interests, including the right to object to direct marketing; and
- withdraw consent where consent is the basis for a particular activity, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Send requests to sales@ride-skin.com. We may ask for information reasonably needed to confirm your identity before responding. Some requests are subject to exemptions or retention obligations under law.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We welcome the opportunity to address a concern directly first.
11. Security and other websites
We seek to use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards for the information handled by the service and its providers. No online system can promise absolute security. Protect your password, use a trusted device and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
Links to external services and information sources are provided for convenience. Their own privacy notices govern processing for which they are responsible.
12. Children
MERITIQA Professional is designed for independent career and professional development, rather than specifically for children. Please contact us before providing personal information relating to a child. If we learn that information was collected without a required legal basis or consent, we will consider appropriate corrective steps.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in features, providers or legal requirements. The version date above will be updated when the text changes, and we will provide additional notice where required by law.
